Recent studies shows that many patients search their symptoms online

but when they visit a doctor they don't share the full truth hoping to hear a less serious verdict.
최근 연구에 따르면 많은 환자들이 온라인에서 자신의 증상을 검색하지만, 의사를 방문할 때는 덜 심각한 진단을 듣고 싶어 하며 사실을 모두 말하지 않는다고 합니다.

This is a human nature. We open wanted solutions without confronting the causes.
이것은 인간의 본성입니다. 우리는 원인을 직면하지 않고 해결책만을 원합니다.

Today's passage begins with a scene in which some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord

and sat down in front of Echle.
오늘의 본문은 이스라엘 장로 몇 사람이 주께 묻기 위해 와서 에스겔 앞에 앉는 장면으로 시작합니다.

 

Their visit was not about listening to the truths or changing their behavior or repent rather they wanted the solution without the fixing their simple condition.
그들의 방문 목적은 진리를 듣거나 행동을 바꾸거나 회개하기 위함이 아니라, 단지 죄악된 상태를 고치지 않고도 해결책만 얻고자 함이었습니다.

Shall we open our ears to hear what God is as saying to those elders?
우리도 귀를 열어 하나님께서 그 장로들에게 하신 말씀을 들어볼까요?

 

 

Lessons from the Exodus

 

 

Ezekiel Chapter twenty verses 1 to nine
에스겔 20장 1절부터 9절

1. In the seventh year, in the fifth month on the tenth day, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and they sat down in front of me. 제7년 다섯째 달 열째 날에 이스라엘 장로 몇 사람이 여호와께 묻기 위해 와서 내 앞에 앉았다. 2. Then the word of the Lord came to me: 그때 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하였다. 3. “Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Have you come to inquire of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign Lord.’” “인자야, 이스라엘 장로들에게 말하여라. ‘주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 너희가 나에게 묻기 위해 왔느냐? 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세한다. 내가 너희가 내게 묻도록 허락하지 않으리라.’ 주 여호와의 말씀이시다.” 4. “Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Then confront them with the detestable practices of their ancestors “네가 그들을 심판하겠느냐? 네가 그들을 심판하겠느냐, 인자야? 그렇다면 그들의 조상들의 가증한 행위를 그들에게 알려주어라.” 5. and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I chose Israel, I swore with uplifted hand to the descendants of Jacob and revealed myself to them in Egypt. With uplifted hand I said to them, ‘I am the Lord your God.’ “그리고 그들에게 이르라. ‘주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 내가 이스라엘을 택한 날에, 야곱의 자손에게 손을 들어 맹세하며 애굽 땅에서 그들에게 나를 나타내었다. 내가 손을 들어 맹세하며 이르기를 ‘나는 여호와 너희의 하나님이다’ 하였다.” 6. On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands. “그날에 내가 그들에게 손을 들어 맹세하기를, 내가 그들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내가 그들을 위하여 찾아낸 땅으로 데려오리라 하였다. 그 땅은 젖과 꿀이 흐르고 모든 땅 가운데 가장 아름다운 땅이었다.” 7. And I said to them, ‘Each of you, get rid of the vile images you have set your eyes on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’ “내가 그들에게 이르기를, ‘너희 각 사람은 너희가 마음에 두고 있는 가증한 우상들을 버리고 애굽의 우상들로 스스로를 더럽히지 말라. 나는 여호와 너희의 하나님이다’ 하였다.” 8. But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt. “그러나 그들은 내게 반역하고 내 말을 듣지 않았다. 그들은 자기 눈에 두었던 가증한 우상들을 버리지 않았으며 애굽의 우상들도 버리지 않았다. 그러므로 내가 이르기를, 내가 애굽 땅에서 그들에게 내 분노를 쏟고 내 진노를 그들에게 다하리라 하였다.” 9. But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites. “그러나 내 이름을 위하여 내가 그들을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내었다. 내가 이렇게 한 것은 그들이 사는 민족들의 눈앞에서 내 이름이 더럽혀지지 않게 하려는 것이었다. 내가 그들의 눈앞에서 이스라엘에게 나를 나타내었기 때문이다.”

 

 

 

Ajikail writes In the seventh year in the fifth month of the 10th day some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord and then they sat down in front of me.
아지카일은 이렇게 기록합니다. 제7년 다섯째 달 열째 날에 이스라엘 장로 몇 사람이 여호와께 묻기 위해 와서 내 앞에 앉았습니다.

This refers to the seventh year of King Jehoaqin's exile.
이는 여호야긴 왕의 포로 7년째를 가리킵니다.

Jerusam had not yet been destroyed

but Babylon had already taken the first wave of exile including A Cle.
예루살렘은 아직 파괴되지 않았으나

바빌론은 이미 첫 번째 포로 무리를 끌고 갔고, 그 안에는 에스겔도 포함되었습니다.

The political mood was tense.
정치적 분위기는 긴장되어 있었습니다.

Egypt was encouraging Judah to rebel against the Babylon and some exiles hoped for the quick return home.
이집트는 유다에게 바빌론에 대항하여 반란을 일으키도록 부추겼고, 몇몇 포로들은 빠른 귀환을 희망했습니다.

These elders who came to Eska might have been seeking divine approval for political or military plans.
에스겔에게 온 이 장로들은 정치적 혹은 군사적 계획에 대한 하나님의 승인을 구하려 했을지도 모릅니다.

Rather than genuine repentance they wanted to know if they should ally with a certain nation,

which nation to support and whether they could survive by rebelling against the Babylon and enjoining hands with the Egypt.
그들은 진정한 회개보다는 어느 나라와 동맹을 맺어야 하는지, 어떤 나라를 지지해야 하는지, 바빌론에 반역하고 이집트와 손을 잡으면 살아남을 수 있는지를 알고 싶어 했습니다.

 

This was not the first time they had come to Azakle to seek God's will.
이것은 그들이 하나님의 뜻을 묻기 위해 에스겔에게 찾아온 첫 번째가 아니었습니다.

A similar situation happened earlier in Akah chapter 14

Gd's response then was I will not be inquired of by you here in chapter 20

Got's initial reply is the same but this time he strengthened it with an Op.
비슷한 상황이 앞서 14장에서 있었는데, 그때 하나님의 응답은 “나는 너희에게 묻힘을 받지 않겠다”였습니다. 20장에서도 하나님의 첫 응답은 같았지만 이번에는 더 강하게 말씀하셨습니다.

As I leave these elders had already decided what they wanted to do but they pretended to seek God's counsel.
이 장로들은 이미 자신들이 하고 싶은 일을 결정해 놓고도 하나님의 뜻을 구하는 척했습니다.

This is a hypocrisy and God refused to answer on their terms.
이것은 위선이었으며 하나님은 그들의 방식대로 대답하시기를 거부하셨습니다.

Instead of giving them the answer they wanted God told them what they needed to hear.
하나님은 그들이 듣고 싶어 하는 답 대신에, 그들이 들어야 하는 말씀을 주셨습니다.

He instructed his kiles to confront them with the reality of their Sen.
하나님은 그의 선지자에게 그들의 죄의 현실을 직면하게 하라고 명하셨습니다.

 

God reminded them of their history in Egypt how he rescued them with a mighty hand and chose them as his own people and revealed himself to them.
하나님은 그들에게 애굽에서의 역사를 상기시키시며, 강한 손으로 그들을 구원하고 자기 백성으로 삼아 자신을 나타내신 일을 기억하게 하셨습니다.

He promised them a land flowing with milk and honey to display his glory.
그분은 자신의 영광을 나타내기 위해 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 약속하셨습니다.

After granting what he had promised God commanded them to get rid of idols within them.
하나님은 약속을 주신 후 그들에게 마음속의 우상들을 버리라고 명하셨습니다.

His servation was not only about getting them out of Egypt but also getting Egypt out of them.
그분의 구원은 단순히 그들을 애굽에서 나오게 하는 것뿐 아니라, 그들 안의 애굽을 제거하는 것이기도 했습니다.

 

GA called them to reject the idolatry and the worship him alone.
하나님은 그들에게 우상을 버리고 오직 자신만 예배하라고 부르셨습니다.

However they rebelled against God and refused to listen his commands.
그러나 그들은 하나님께 반역하고 그의 명령을 듣기를 거부했습니다.

Even after experiencing his mighty acts they clung to false gods and idols.
그들은 하나님의 강력한 행위를 경험한 후에도 거짓 신들과 우상들에 집착했습니다.

They failed to be faithful to the Lord who had delivered them from the hands of the Egypt.
그들은 자신들을 애굽의 손에서 구원하신 여호와께 신실하지 못했습니다.

Although his people repeatedly violated the covenant and defiled themselves by the holding onto idols God honored his covenant and faithfully saved them from slavery breeding them into beautiful and flowing with their milk and honey.
비록 그의 백성이 반복해서 언약을 어기고 우상에 매달려 자신을 더럽혔지만, 하나님은 언약을 지키시고 그들을 종살이에서 신실하게 구원하시며 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 아름다운 땅으로 이끄셨습니다.

 

He was committed to them because of his covenant relationship

got acted for the sake of his name so his glory would not be profaned among the nations.
하나님은 언약 관계 때문에 그들에게 신실하셨으며,

그의 이름을 위하여 행동하셔서 그의 영광이 열국 가운데서 더럽혀지지 않게 하셨습니다.

In today's passage we see that some elders came to Eskile to inquire of God's will

but their hearts still clung to the same idol that had it enslaved them in Egypt.
오늘 본문에서 우리는 몇몇 장로들이 하나님의 뜻을 묻기 위해 에스겔에게 왔지만,

그들의 마음은 여전히 그들을 애굽에서 종살이하게 했던 같은 우상에 매여 있음을 봅니다.

 

God refused to answer them because they were not ready to repent.
하나님은 그들이 회개할 준비가 되어 있지 않았기 때문에 대답을 거부하셨습니다.

They were seeking solution but unwilling to confront the scin in their hearts.
그들은 해결책은 구했지만 마음속의 죄와는 맞서기를 원치 않았습니다.

 

 

When have you experienced God’s love, commitment, and faithfulness?

The Exodus story warns us that it is possible to experience a God's blessing yet keep our hearts chained to the older adults.
출애굽 이야기는 우리가 하나님의 축복을 경험하면서도 여전히 우리의 마음을 옛 우상에 묶어둘 수 있음을 경고합니다.

God's deliverance calling for ongoing obedience and not selective listening the Lord save us to glorify his name through our lives.
하나님의 구원은 지속적인 순종을 요구하지, 선택적인 청취가 아닙니다. 주께서는 우리의 삶을 통해 자신의 이름이 영광받게 하시려고 우리를 구원하셨습니다.

Remember God's servation is not only about getting us out of Egypt it is also about getting Egypt out of us.
하나님의 구원은 단지 우리를 애굽에서 나오게 하는 것만이 아니라, 우리 안의 애굽을 제거하는 것입니다.

 

 

Let's pray there Father we have seen your frustration through the inn story of as a Cle
기도합시다. 아버지, 우리는 에스겔의 이야기 속에서 주님의 안타까움을 보았습니다.
and the winder those are in the elders come in a father they did not come to be truthful before you.
그리고 그 장로들이 주님 앞에 진실하게 나오지 않았음을 보았습니다.
They didn't wanted to change their action but they wanted to listen the blessing
You know Father at this moment so we want to stop and then search our heart.
그들은 자신의 행동을 바꾸려 하지 않고, 오히려 축복만을 원했습니다.
아버지, 이 순간 우리가 멈추어 우리 마음을 살펴보기를 원합니다.
Do we have in the same attitude like those elders?
우리가 그 장로들과 같은 태도를 가지고 있습니까?
We don't want to change in our life
but we want to have the blessing you have shown your faithfulness and we don't want to disgrace you know your
우리는 삶을 바꾸지 않으려 하면서도, 주님의 축복은 받고 싶어 합니다.
주님은 신실하심을 보여주셨는데, 우리는 그 영광을 욕되게 하고 싶지 않습니다.
blessing So Father changing our act and then let us come before you with a truthful heart.
그러므로 아버지, 우리의 행동을 바꾸어 주시고, 진실한 마음으로 주님 앞에 나아가게 하소서.
